SPONSORS
STARTUP NEXUS’24

ERIC - Entrepreneurship, Research and Incubation Centre is the first student-run incubation cell in Delhi University. They are organising the event "Startup Nexus" that is a Startup Networking Fair coupled with a Hiring Campaign, a B-Plan Competition, and a Fun Event.

The event will take place on the 12th of April, 2024. They will be inviting startups to set up stalls in order to interact with the audience. Stalls would be completely free of cost and would be provided by them. Startups have to organise their own banners. Startups can also showcase their products to the audience but selling the products is prohibited. They'll also be inviting a panel of mentors and investors to guide or potentially invest in these startups.

In order to uplift the student startup community, they'll also be inviting some student founders. Every startup that will be invited, will also be asked to offer a few openings. This can be in the form of an internship, which can be paid or unpaid.

OUR TWO CENTS
Electrifying Expansion: Tesla’s Strategic Surge into India’s Auto Market

Tesla's scouting mission to India is revving up excitement faster than a
Model S on ludicrous mode! With a proposed $2-3 billion electric car plant on the cards, Tesla is eyeing India's automotive hubs like a kid in a candy store. The Financial Times reports that states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu might soon be hosting more than just spicy cuisine and Bollywood shoots.

Why India, you ask? Well, it's not just for the love of samosas. India's automotive market is booming faster than a Diwali firecracker, set to skyrocket from Rs 12.5 lakh crore to a whopping Rs 24.9 lakh crore by 2030. Tesla's looking to tap into this growth, potentially rolling out a 'Model 2' that's easier on the wallet than a post-festival sale.

The benefits? For Tesla, it's about diversifying faster than a street vendor changes his menu. For India, it's a chance to turbocharge the economy and steer towards a cleaner, greener future. So, buckle up, because if this deal accelerates, we're all in for an electrifying ride!

OUR TWO CENTS
Hydroelectric Surge: India’s Renewable Energy Growth

India is making waves in the renewable energy sector with a hydroelectric power surge that’s more refreshing than a monsoon breeze. By 2031-32, we’re looking at a capacity boost from the current 42 GW to a whopping 67 GW. That’s over 50% more clean, green energy to power our samosas and supercomputers alike! With 15 GW of projects already bubbling under construction, India’s energy landscape is about to get as dynamic as a Bollywood dance sequence.

The secret sauce? Good old H2O, courtesy of favorable monsoons and Himalayan snowmelt. The Indian Meteorological Department forecasts a splashy fiscal year 2024-25, promising to fill our reservoirs like a generous chai wallah. And let’s not forget the pumped storage projects, poised to add 2.7 GW to the grid. These ‘Water Batteries’ are set to scale up from 4.7 GW to an energizing 55 GW, ensuring that not a drop of this liquid gold goes to waste.

Sure, we’ve had our share of dry spells and flash floods, but India’s hydro future looks as bright as a Diwali sky. With a commitment to the Paris agreement and a zest for innovation, we’re steering towards a sustainable future, one hydro plant at a time. So, strap in and get ready for a power-packed ride on the renewable roller coaster – it’s going to be electrifying!

Banking on Synergy: The AU-Fincare Merger

In the bustling bazaars of banking mergers, the latest talk of the town is the union of AU Small Finance Bank and Fincare Small Finance Bank. It’s like a Bollywood cross-regional romance, where the North meets the South, but instead of dance numbers, we have daunting tech integrations. AU’s Oracle waltzes with Fincare’s FIS in a complex choreography of codes and commands, while HR departments juggle the diverse cultural beats of their employees.

The merger promises a financial feast, with AU SFB’s ambition to double its touchpoints and Fincare bringing its secured loan book prowess to the table. But, like any grand Indian wedding, the budget is hefty—Rs 300 crore, with a tech integration bill of Rs 50 crore alone. The cost-to-income ratio might feel the pinch, like a tight sherwani, squeezing up to 64% in FY25.

Yet, the long-term gains could be great. With the potential to lower operational expenses and improve margins, this financial alliance could be the power couple of the banking sector. So, let’s raise a toast of chai to the new banking family, hoping their ledger of love proves profitable!
